RE: Taxes - taxes - taxes - taxes!!!!!!!

I don't have a problem with what to take! Hawaiian Airline says first bag $15 second bag $50. I can't go for 4 months without one bag but I will be darned if I will pay $50 for the second. They say it is all about weight and fuel? I Emailed them and asked if that was so how come my 60lb Grandkids cost the same as a 300 lb adult. Aloha from Kauai Would it be cheaper to just UPS your second bag to your final destination?

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

I hope everyone who is going out deer hunting will use extreme caution this hunting season. I just read a report that five were injured and one killed in the first weekend of deer season in Wisconsin. I hope there aren't any more reports like that! Hunt safely everyone.

Joe, look for soft windows for a mac. It should run all the windows based programs that you may be having trouble with. If it is a microsoft program, then there are versions that will work with either a mac or windows, doesn't make a difference.

Last year for thanksgiving we got a raw roast from west Liberty Foods. Its a local turkey processing plant, formerly Louis Rich now owned by a local farmer cooperative. (www.wifoods.com) It is all breast meat and is very tender. The lady that runs the outlet store told us just what to do to prepare it and it was great.

RE: Can You Believe It???

I think several are scratching their heads over this one. Iowa's biggest problem is paying all four quarters. Last week they only played one. Apparently Ferentz reminded them about a 60 minute game. Outback bowl reps were interviewed during the game yesterday. They always favor Iowa because they travel so well. I sure like that stadium and being somewhere warm in January. Shonn Greene has rushed over 100 yards in 7 games in a row I think. I hope they do well for the last 2 games. He is ranked fifth in line for an awards for this already.

Problem is the pop is all gone. Better text the DW and ask her to get some before she come home from work I'll try to post some pics. I don't do this very often so this may not even work. http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL459/9822035/20854917/340727295.jpg http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL459/9822035/20854917/340727292.jpg http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL459/9822035/20854917/340727291.jpg http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL459/9822035/20854917/340727288.jpg

RE: Roots of your RV addiction??

My parents had a pickup camper and aunt/uncle had a tt. They were all pursuaded by my grandparents who have camped for years, traveling all over our great country, My grandparents final 4 campers were Carriages, apparently they were nuts for them. Granddad was the neighborhood mechanic for their club and that also extended to the village they stayed at in Apache Junction, Az. Mom and dad moved on to an Avenger tt built by Holiday and that stayed around for many year and finally it was almost forgot about until DD stopped on a whim at a local dealership and they picked out a 5ver which they are still using currently. We used that tt almost every weekend at our own private campground along the Cedar River. Had our own boat dock and even running water provided by a sand point well complete with a double sink. Most meals were cooked on an open fire in a ring built out of 2 old steel tractor wheels. Pans were all cast iron and the griddles were cast iron lids from old Maytag wringer washers. Fishing every weekend via "diddie poles" and swimming at the nearest sand bar during the day. Yes, I grew up redneck and although I don't do camping the way we used to, I still go every weekend to local races and have made the camp outing as important as the races. I think there were only 3 weekends from April til October when we didn't camp somewhere. I love it.

RE: Best way thru Indy with Fiver

we pull out to Rossburg every year from Iowa City and usually hit 38th ave through Indy. its four lane and only a few stop lights. Our friends who haul a race car out there told us about this route. This year we went on 32-36 all the way to Greenville Oh. and then north to our destination. It was a nice change of pace. 465 seems a long way to go around Indy. Have tried it and I like going 38 ave better. have fun

RE: Where to go during Christmas break?

I'll trade you then. I'm off from probably 12/19 til? Hopefully it will only be a month but can't really go anywhere. DW doesn't have enough vacation to really head in any direction and the bills don't stop coming in just cause I don't go to work.

Man killed over chess match

dangerous games Story Created: Oct 19, 2008 at 2:05 PM CDT Story Updated: Oct 19, 2008 at 8:18 PM CDT IOWA CITY - Iowa City police say a chess game argument turned deadly overnight. The incident started just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning at 418 Brown Street in Iowa City. That's the address of a large rooming house complex. Police found Michael Steward, 39, unresponsive at the scene. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center just blocks away where he was pronounced dead. After hours of investigation, police charged David Christian, 29, with second degree murder and public intoxication. Police did not say yet how Steward died, but they did say the incident started with an early morning game of chess Sunday. Investigators believe Steward and Christian started arguing over the game. That argument turned into a physical fight. Police say during that dispute Christian killed Steward. One neighbor, Jessie Witherell, says the two often drank together--but she never saw any bad feelings, much less violence. "They like to hang out and part of whatever happened was an accident I don't think they meant to hurt each other," she said. Witherell said the two played chess together often and it wasn't a shock they were doing in the the early morning hours Sunday. Another neighbor in the same building at 418 Brown Street also knew the two hung out together and never saw any problems. Gail Cox said "if it's the two I'm thinking of no, they drank a lot and hung out here a lot but aside from that, that's all I know." Police did not say if any kind of a weapon was involved and only mentioned a fight. Preliminary autopsy results for Steward are expected later this week. Who woulda thunk it.
